RPG Life Sciences formerly Searle India a wide-ranging pharmaceutical organization has announced plans to set up a multipurpose facilities in Gujarat. The unit is to enhancing & creating in both of its formulation facilities and will be implemented at an investment of Rs.1,000 million. As of January 2009, the company has signed an MoU with the state government. The project is expected to be completed in the next 3 years to 5 years.

Intas Biopharmaceuticals a fully integrated Indian biopharmaceutical company is planning to set up a monoclonal antibodies manufacturing unit at Matoda in Ahmedabad district of Gujarat. The project entails an investment of Rs.1,600 million. As of January 2009, the company has signed a MoU with the state government and the plant design is underway. The project is expected to be completed by 2011.
