NON CONVENTIONAL ENERGY

Refex Energy a solar system integrator entering into renewable energy is planning to set up a solar power plant in Gujarat. The project will be implemented in JV with IBC Solar AG, Germany and is to set up a pilot project of 5 MW with subsequent expansion upto 50 MW. The project envisages an investment of Rs.10,000 million to be funded through debts & equity in the ratio 70:30. Major equipment will be sourced from the partner company. As of February 2009, an MoU has been signed with the state government and the company is scouting for suitable land. The pilot project is to be commissioned by the second quarter of 2010 and the entire project by 2013.

Moser Baer a leading manufacturer of optical storage devices is implementing a solar PV films manufacturing unit near Chennai in TN. The unit is to manufacture thin films and will be implemented at an estimated cost of Rs.20,000 million. As of January 2009, civil works are in progress. The unit is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2009 or early 2010.
