Mysore City Corporation (MCC) has proposed to establish two compost manufacturing units at Kesare and Rayanakere in Mysore with a combined capacity to produce 200 tonnes a day. The estimated cost of setting up each unit is Rs. 23 crore, but the civic body has earmarked Rs. 14.56 crore this year. The MCC will also establish dry waste collection centres in each of the 65 wards in the city for processing recyclable waste collected as part of the segregated waste collection system.
