The Kerala state chief minister, Oommen Chandy, will inaugurate one lakh litre septage waste treatment plant at Brahmapuram in Dec’15. Construction of the facility, which is being set under the Kerala Sustainable Urban Development Project (KSUDP), began in 2014 end. Set up on 40 cents of land, the advanced treatment plant will convert septage waste into water through a three-tier treatment system. The total estimated cost of the plant is Rs.4.2 crore.
