According to the Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari, India will double its ports capacity to 3000 million tonnes by 2025 from its 1,500 MT in 2015. The government is also expecting 2 lakh crore investments in the Maritime India Summit to be held in Mumbai from April 14 to 16. Besides, the union government will invest Rs. 60,000 crore in the port sector by May 26 this year.
