ATC teams up with Arizona utility to build power lines

American Transmission Co. (ATC) has its eyes on Arizona and the southwestern United States. ATC Development Co., the development arm of Pewaukee-based ATC, announced a joint operating agreement on 30th January, 2017 with Arizona Electric Power Cooperative to develop new transmission projects. The new venture, dubbed ATC Southwest, will work to identify and build projects that can provide reliability as well as economic and renewable energy benefits in the region. The cooperative operates a power plant that burns coal and natural gas and owns and operates 620 miles of transmission lines.
