First hybrid power plant opened in Lanka

The first hybrid power plant with a capacity of 60 KW that will generate electricity using wind, solar and diesel was opened on 10th February, 2017 in Eluvathivu Island in Jaffn, Sri Lanka. It has been built with the financial assistance rendered by the Asian Development Bank and the Ceylon Electricity Board aiming the promotion of green energy at a cost of 187 million Sri Lankan rupees.
