Hocking County commissioners are handling the estimated $4.5 million project for the village about 70 miles southeast of Columbus, and Stantec Consulting Services Inc. of Logan is designing it. Plans include a system that will carry sewage by gravity to a wastewater treatment plant to be built on the south end of the village, on land owned by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The sewer system will be connected in the spring or summer of 2018. Federal and state grants are expected to fund the project.
