Japan’s Koyo Breaks Ground on 9-MW PV Plant in Lwate

Koyo Eletric Corp has begun the construction of a 8.8-MW PV power plant in Takizawa City, Iwate prefecture covering an area of 150,855 sq. mtrs. The total cost of the plant shall be around JPY 3.47 billion and it is expected to be completed in December 2017. Around 28,000 solar modules has been supplied by South Korea’s LG Electronics Inc. Once operational, the PV plant will sell its output to domestic utility Tohoku Electric Power Co Inc. Design and construction is a responsabilioty of local firm JFE Plant Engineering.
