US-based La-Z-Boy Incorporated plans to invest $26m in its largest US manufacturing facility. Spread over a three-year period, the 1.2 million sq ft site in Dayton, Tennessee, will undergo various upgrades and refurbishments throughout its upholstery plant and supply centres, taking around a year and a half to finish. The project, which will run in two sequential phases, will also include the construction of a new 70,000 sq. ft state-of-the-art Innovation Centre, which will replace an existing structure on site and will house a model shop, technology centre, test lab and a three-dimensional printing lab. The final phase of the project will include the construction of a new transportation terminal. Works are set to begin this month, with the redevelopment expected to take around 14 months to complete.
