Benitachell’s new waste water treatment plant can now handle 150,000 cu. mtrs a year, one-third more than formerly. The plant whose €613,333 cost is almost €130,000 below the tender price, has been met by publicly-owned Proaguas Costablanca, which belongs to the Alicante Provincial Council. The plant has a new, larger-capacity pre-treatment compactor and the existing biological reactor has been remodelled. A secondary decanter has been installed as well as a new sludge circulator.
