Paraguay opens US$599mn bid for wastewater treatment plants

Paraguay’s public works ministry opened the only bid to develop sewer systems and wastewater treatment plants in the Asuncion metropolitan area. The bid was submitted by Spanish consortium Acciona Agua-Acciona Infraestructuras in September, with an offer of US$599mn for the turnkey project in the municipalities of Lambare, Luque, and Mariano Roque Alonso. The US$599mn bid, to be paid in 14 years, includes managing the plants.
