United Utilities Group has received final planning consent from Allerdale Council for the construction of a £300M water pipeline project in West Cumbria, UK. The project has already been approved by Copeland Council and the Lake District National Park Authority. The scope of the project will include the construction of 100km of pipeline, and associated infrastructure including a new water treatment works, two service reservoirs and a pumping station to take water from Thirlmere reservoir. Construction on the project is expected to commence in March 2017, and take four years to be completed.
