The Vance County Board of Commissioners held a special meeting on 29th December, 2016 about U.S. Department of Agriculture funding for the construction of new water lines in the county water system. To finance the project, the USDA is providing a $1 million grant and a $212,000 loan. The board approved the terms of the project. The lines to be constructed will start at Rock Mill Road, and will extend down to Foster Road, and move down a couple of hundred feet through the Foster Road Extension. The line will be an extension of the Phase 1A line already in existence at the Sandy Creek Township area.
